The Latin American Iron and Steel Institute - ILAFA is a civil non-profit Non-Governmental International Organization that gathers and looks after the interests of Latin American iron and steel industry and companies.

ILAFA has its General Secretariat in Santiago de Chile and acts as a Special Consultant for the United Nations on issues related to the sector. It offers a forum for exchange and knowledge among industry peers, national, regional, and international organizations, at meetings such as congresses (ILAFA-51) and trade shows (ILAFAEXPO 2010), providing technical, scientific, economic, trade, and statistical information by means of publications, in order to collaborate with this activity's sustainable development.
