 The growing volume of exports to Latin America of Chinese steel products has been a source of concern for regional steel industrialists. Thus, ILAFA's General Secretariat has deemed convenient to prepare a Yearbook with detailed information on imports and exports of products of Chapters 72 and 73 of the Harmonized System, as well as Raw and Input Materials and Final Goods belonging to the so-called Indirect Steel Trade.
This work has been edited for the third consecutive year. It covers the period 2007-2009, with details on products, this trade's origins and destinations, with the volumes and values of transactions for the countries in which ILAFA has a Regional Secretary, that is, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela, as well as Chile. |

Unique yearly publication of its kind in Latin America, it compiles the statistics by country regarding production and exports of iron ore, production of primary iron and of steel by procedure and type of production for the whole mix of steel products. It includes figures corresponding to imports and exports by country of origin and destination for each product. The yearbook is complemented with results of apparent consumption, investments and funding sources, as well as occupied workforce and consumption of raw material.
It is published in Spanish in CD format with titles in English and a bilingual glossary of terms.
