  OBJECTIVES
The Institute is a non-profit organization which pursues the following objectives:
Study the economic, statistical, trade, technical, and scientific aspects of steel production and its raw materials;
Look after the general interests of the region's iron and steel industry and establish links with the governments of Latin America and competent international organizations;

Further, as much as possible, knowledge and direct, wide and complete relationship among member company executives, to promote cooperation among industrialists and the integration of Latin American iron and steel enterprises;

Promote the exchange and dissemination of technical, economic, financial, and statistical information or of any other nature, of interest for the iron and steel sector;
Collaborate with those initiatives that promote the efforts of iron and steel enterprises and maintain such actions that further manpower capacity building, quality improvement, productivity empowerment, and environmental preservation;
Promote and disseminate the use of steel in Latin America and the rest of the world and

Develop all actions and sign every contract leading to the direct or indirect fulfillment of the Institute's objectives.
